Just to cover those who aren't on Facebook (and to have more than a single entry on the site this year), I thought I'd mention for anyone still paying attention to this site that Kirstin and I are expecting. It's currently around 13 weeks, putting the due date at the end of next May. We had the ultrasound a couple weeks ago, and all looks well. We're both quite excited about it, which for me translates to impatience at the moment. Ah well, I shouldn't complain as I don't personally have to go through the actual pregnancy.

I should have just stayed in bed. I've been doing very poorly lately in managing to get out of bed to go work out in the mornings, but this morning I gritted my teeth and dragged myself over there. I was running late anyway (out of practice in getting there perhaps?), and had been on the treadmill for barely two minutes when an employee rushes in and says that we have to evacuate the building due to a suspected pipe bomb in the building across the parking lot. Sigh... Maybe I've just been cried wolf at too many times, but really - when was the last time that a suspected pipe bomb was anything but a random pile of electronics (or a viral marketing ploy...)? I give up, I'm just going to stop working out and change to a steady diet of cheetos.

Well crap. It's been so long - what do I do when my candidate wins? I don't have a frame of reference; most of my adult political exposure has been during the Bush Jr. years. I've spent so much time being on the underdog side, I think my brain's going to explode watching the presidency of the guy who I actually voted for. After the giddiness fades from voting for someone (as opposed to against someone), I suppose I'll have to settle down and watch things soberly. But for now I say: IT'S ABOUT GODDAMN TIME.
