So here is my travel journal from my backpacking trip to Europe. It's more involved than my day log stuff that's already been up the site. There has been some complaining (you know who you are) that my daylog was rather boring and that it focused too much on the details of transportation. I can't promise that this is less boring, but's there's certainly a hell of lot more of it. Occasional parts of the journal have been omitted to protect the (not-so)innocent. These parts really weren't that common, but hey - use your imagination. Keep in mind that this is a journal and things like punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph breaks, grammar, and spelling may or may not been a part of the writing process. Not to mention my almost criminal use of parenthesis. Like my pictures, the writing is quite erratic as far as consistency of content. The journal style kind of mutates over the course of the trip. Read at your own risk.

5/13 - Barcelona, Spain

Well, the whole Nice thing didn't quite work out for today. Apparently the French railroad is on strike, so I'm stuck in Barcelona. Ah well, it could be worse. I kinda wanted to spend more time in Barcelona anyway. I'm on the train to Figueres (1.45 Hour train ride) to see the Dalí museum. -- Heading back to Barcelona. The museum was worth the trip, however €9 was a little much for such a small museum. Being designed by Dalí himself the museum itself was something to see, there's a large circular courtyard in the center with sculptures, as you walk through the museum, you constantly are coming back to it. Dali Museum With the the playful design, and colorful sculptures, this seems like the type of museum smaller children wouldn't get as bored in as some. Of course there would probably be some debate as to whether or not Dalí's work is appropriate for children. There did seem to be a few middle school groups there, so who knows. It had a lot of really nice paintings, although none of the really famous ones. Dali Museum
