So here is my travel journal from my backpacking trip to Europe. It's more involved than my day log stuff that's already been up the site. There has been some complaining (you know who you are) that my daylog was rather boring and that it focused too much on the details of transportation. I can't promise that this is less boring, but's there's certainly a hell of lot more of it. Occasional parts of the journal have been omitted to protect the (not-so)innocent. These parts really weren't that common, but hey - use your imagination. Keep in mind that this is a journal and things like punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph breaks, grammar, and spelling may or may not been a part of the writing process. Not to mention my almost criminal use of parenthesis. Like my pictures, the writing is quite erratic as far as consistency of content. The journal style kind of mutates over the course of the trip. Read at your own risk.

7/2 - Munich, Germany

Ahh...a blissfully boring day in Munich. After getting to Munich this morning bright and early at 6:30 am on the night train, I checked 2 nearby hostels only to find them full. I took the streetcar out to The Tent, a hostel I'd heard about from my roommates in Prague. It thankfully had space (they don't take reservations). The Tent is exactly that, composed of two very large tents. One has beds in it, the other just floorspace. You can either get a bed or rent a sleeping pad and blankets for cheaper. It has a very relaxed summer camp feel to it. Once I checked in, I immediately passed out (didn't sleep well on the train) until around 11. Sat around for a little while, before heading back into town at about 1. I spent a few hours at the Deutches Museum, a huge science and technology museum. Very entertaining. I spent 2 or 3 hours there and only saw about a 3rd of it. The only downside was that not all the exhibits had English captions. After that I went and got online, noticing that my credit card had already been used since leaving my possesion. This reminded to actually go cancel them. I ended up spending about €15 in phonecards, but I got both of them shut off and the charges removed. After that I grabbed a Kebab (called Kebap in Germany) and came back to the hostel.
